INTRODUCTION

In this program, participants will be introduced to the basic industrial safety and health incorporating OSHA/WISHA rules and regulations, personal protective equipment, chemical safety, tool safety, material handling safety, machine safety, electrical safety, fire protection, health protection and safe working practices

ü  Safe Material Handling

ü  Proper lifting techniques

ü  Material handling injuries

ü  Material handling equipment and tools

ü  Powered industrial trucks and forklifts

ü  Hoist and cranes

ü  Rigging, wire, and nylon ropes and slings

ü  Material and chemical storage

Day 4

ü  Tool and Equipment Safety

ü  Hand tools

ü  Air and electric powered hand tools

ü  Explosive powder tools

ü  Certification for explosive powder tools

ü  Fixed and portable ladders and scaffolds

Day 5

ü  Machinery Safeguards

ü  Machinery guarding

ü  Lockout/tag out of machinery

ü  Barriers and enclosure guards

ü  Controls and operating safety

REQUIREMENTS

Participants should be reasonably proficient in English. Applicants must live up to Afriex Training Ltd admission criteria.

METHODOLOGY

The instructor led trainings are delivered using a blended learning approach and comprises of presentations, guided sessions of practical exercise, web based tutorials and group work. Our facilitators are seasoned industry experts with years of experience, working as professional and trainers in these fields.

All facilitation and course materials will be offered in English. The participants should be reasonably proficient in English.

TRAINING VENUE, LOGISTICS AND PAYMENT

ü  Training is residential and will be held at Afriex Training Centre.

ü  The course fee covers the course tuition, training materials, two break refreshments, lunch, and study visits.

ü  Accommodation and airport transfer are arranged upon request by the participant.

ü  This training can also be tailor made for your institution upon request. You can have it delivered in our training Centre or at a convenient location.
